Treasurer – The Lions Trust

The main tasks of the Treasurer of The Lions Trust include:

To maintain accurate and up to date financial records for the Trust.

To maintain banking and similar online financial accounts eg PayPal.

To ensure FCA and FSA financial rules are followed.

To produce an annual financial statement for presentation at the Trust AGM.

To monitor expenditure and to report regularly to the Trust board.

To work with the Trust secretary and chair on all financial matters.

To act as a signatory for all Trust financial expenditure.

To ensure all debts, bills and outgoings are promptly paid.

To prepare any required information for auditors and the FCA.

To fulfill the role of Treasure ideally an understanding of the Trust movement and the aims and objectives of the Trust are required.

Ideally the candidate will be:

  • methodical and reliable.
  • able to communicate effectively.
  • able to maintain confidentiality.
  • numerate, namely to a level where they are able to understand a balance sheet and profit and loss account.
  • able to explain financial matters to non-financial people.
  • able to use spreadsheets and/or alternative presentation tools.

Responsible to the board and the membership of The Lions Trust.
